I hope you enjoy viewing these photos as much as I enjoy taking them. Nowadays, whenever I am fly fishing in the Sierras and the fishing is slow - which is all too frequent - I just stow the rod, pull out the camera, and enjoy the rivers and mountains in another way. My fishing trips have turned out to be combined photography and fishing trips - and the photography frequently wins out. Flowers are wonderful works of art. They are beautiful to see and their colors dazzle the eyes. Their shapes and forms are intriguing. They are full of surprises; no two are the same. And they are sexy. It's no wonder I am attracted to them. I have organized the wildflower galleries by color, leading off with the yellow flowers and then progressing in color groupings from white to pink, to rose and red, and then to the purples and blues. The colors or often unique and can defy categorization. Just imagine their smells. Landscapes and riverscapes provide another enjoyable outlet for my interests. I have kayaked many of California's foothill rivers; I have hiked all over the state; and I now enjoy the sound and the sight of moving water with my fly rod. The subjects for the camera are endless and adventuresome. Many of the landscape pictures you will see are from the UCSB Sedgwick Reserve in the Santa Ynez Valley where I am a volunteer docent and I help organize our public hiking program.
